Our paper begins by analyzing the concepts and tools usually applied in management of data and information for knowledge generation. Next, we propose that, given the exponential changes that are happening in increasingly complex and uncertain environments, it is necessary to have novel approaches, for which we propose our M-3 MODEL that incorporates an additional instance applied to the analysis of remote (global) environments, and, from it, we develop the characteristics and operation of its first sub-model (IMPE), and in particular its first phase (RESEARCH) where we identify the main indicators of the model (strong and weak signals) analyzing their importance to determine in the resulting behavior
Keywords: (1) Environment Analysis, (2) M-3 Model, (3) IMPE Model
