This article will provide an approximation of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs). Throughout this presentation, we will see how various historical and social moments marked the breakdown of trust in institutions, particularly financial institutions; and how the evolution of the emerging technologies led to the creation of disruptive projects that break with traditional organizational models. We will outline how the technologies behind DAOs work, specifically blockchain, Ethereum, and smart contracts to finally address the various factors and implications that exist around them about their use and adoption.
