Abstract

ABSTRACT
The current competitive landscape has driven organizations to seek more competitive alternatives. The
neoschumpterian theoretical framework that highlights technology has been the outstanding difference
in the market. In this sense, many companies have been investing in technology, especially those
that leverage existing knowledge in the organization as in the case of technological convergence.
To ensure a return on investment, organizations have sought to create mechanisms of appropriability.
Among them, the time to market tools stand out, particularly of lead time. To claim that technological
convergence solutions can indeed contribute to organizational competitiveness, this research aims
to identify the influence of technological convergence projects in organizational appropriateness,
through lead time.
To achieve this goal, the researcher conducted a survey with companies in the metropolitan region
of Curitiba, and found that there is a relation between technological convergence and appropriability
through lead time, which validates the hypothesis that technological convergence enhances the competitiveness
of organizations.
