Abstract

ABSTRACT
This paper explores the consumption practices of Galician immigrants in Uruguay. Through the
concept of Galician community and its consumer networks, the notion of Galician ethnic identity
and how it manifests itself among immigrants is researched. This paper inquires about the impact
of Galician immigrants’ integration to Uruguay and how they relate to Galicia. Finally, this article
establishes a relationship between the group and its consumption and solidarity practices.
